Blades

Tyler Anderson is the composite specialist in the club who has extensive skills when it comes to shaping and glassing over a foam core, mainly from working on surfboards. The blades measure about 1.2 meters and are painted white to protect the resin finish from the sun's harmful rays. They are constructed from a blue insulation foam that was then covered in unidirectional carbon fiber.

The vane will stick out the back of the wind turbine and steer the blades into the wind.
